The BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) driver used in Cambridge’s Aeromax Series speakers features a flat surface that combines the traditional “pistonic” movement of speaker cones with a “bending-wave” movement to create sound. This allows the BMR driver to cover a much wider frequency range than conventional tweeters.

Cambridge didn’t stop with just a new BMR driver. Each heavily braced enclosure is computer-designed to help minimize standing waves and prevent unwanted resonance from coloring the sound. This extensive bracing also locks the drivers in place to further reduce vibration for cleaner dynamics.
